We’re sure there are a few of you out there like us who have been pretty confused at that big yellow thing that’s been in the sky for the last couple of days, right? Who knew the sky was actually blue!? As much as we jest, we are loving this little Aberdeen Summer and long may it last. As much as your first thought may be to hit the beer garden and refresh on some ice cold Kopparberg, it is even more important that we all stay hydrated throughout the day with some good ole’ H2O.
Staying hydrated is important no matter what the weather as it helps us to:
- Fight off headaches
- Helps our heart to work a little easier
- Gives us more energy
- Aids weight loss
- Helps prevent constipation and urinary tract infections
- Helps control your temperature
- Promotes healthy skin
As it controls our temperature it is even more important on these beautifully warm days, otherwise we can become overheated, fatigued and very much at risk of collapse; even more so if we are working out on those summer bods at the same time.
Many people are unsure of how much water we should drink each day, and unfortunately that is very much dependant on the person; but a good rule to go by is if you lose more fluid you need to drink more. Drinking slowly and consistently throughout the day is key, aiming for at least 2 litres if you can.
Happy hydrating!
